Slipstream Advantage today announced that it has joined the DAV Network, a decentralised, peer-to-peer, global transportation network, enabling vehicles to discover, communicate, and transact with one another using blockchain. By joining the network and conducting payments with the DAV coin, Slipstream is now able to optimise and expand its transport services.
Slipstream provides logistics solutions including sea freight, air freight and land transport, transitioning them from analogue, manual processes into digital solutions to improve services and increase productivity. It also integrates into third party provides like Australia Post and Star Track and Gardner Logistics. For decades, it has evolved by implementing new technologies, tools and systems.
Joining the DAV Network allows Slipstream to remove the unnecessary layers in the surrounding transport ecosystem, such as agents and brokers. Through disintermediation, its services will be cheaper, faster, and more efficient. These cost savings will be passed onto customers and other transport companies. Slipstream will enhance the traditional shopping experience by connecting directly to a wider range of transport providers that would otherwise not be available.
Wade McDonough, Managing Director of Slipstream said, “We’re choosing to do business in DAV coin for its speed and liquidity. It also gives us a stake in the DAV Network and enables us to share in its growth. It’s easy to see the transition from traditional payment methods, to tokenised blockchain networks such as DAV, as a preferred solution for the transport industry. We are excited to partner with DAV and we believe it’s the future of transportation.”
Tal Ater, CTO of the DAV Network said: “The key to the future of transportation is decentralisation. Blockchain offers something that no other technology can: a truly connected world where any vehicle can operate seamlessly in any environment, consuming services around it as the need arises. The work that we are doing with Slipstream will be a clear demonstration of how and why this tokenised ecosystem will succeed.”
